- A cost efficient and fast track to CO2 reduction-
Background
The world consumes annually around 6000 million tons of hard coal, 4000 million tons of oil and 3000 m3 of natural gas. This corresponds to approx 85% of the primary energy demand. Thereby the mankind generates more than 30 billion tons of CO2 per year. At the moment the fossil consumption increases annually with a few per cent. Hundreds of million people live in the hot climate zone around the world. They also deserve a better standard of living in the future and can get it with a more efficient use of energy. The last years high energyprices will most likely remain for some years. The situations in Japan, in Germany and in Iran supports uncertanties and high prices. Thereby has it been easier to find economy in energy saving projects. The UN, the International Energy Agency and the EU. Commission favours Energy Savings as priority number ONE to reduce carbon dioxid emmissions.
Preliminary Goals
Energy Efficiency is very overlooked in the rush to cut carbon emission, but established technologies and behaviors are already in place. It can make a quick and significant difference to carbon emission reduction within the existent fossil. A huge new market for companies will opens. The good environmental image of Österlen can be strengthern by energy saving and by using the methangas from the agriculture. Have a look at Inspiring Links on the homepage. The Forum will try to;
- Promote information about energy savings and better use of rest produkts from agriculture and food industries. All for lower costs and better climate.
- Promote lower costs, by reducing energy consumptions.
- Show that efforts for new energy technologies have allready start to give results.
- Special emphases towards including energy efficiency in the education systems by information on Internet and later presentations in schools.
- Show that huge energy savings up to at least 20% within existing buildings, industries and transport sector can be reached economically.
- Start a process of collecting energy saving tips and proposals in order to spread for others to use in the southern Sweden as a complement to official energy advisory bodies.
- Arrenge Seminars/conferences for dialouge in order spead up energy saving activities.
- The environment of the Baltic Sea can´t recover with today´s high CO2 emissions its surroundings. Dialouge with other coastal municipalities will be held in order improve the environment by increasing energy savings.
- Act as advisor/consultants in order to promote the process a better environment bny better use of the energy resources.
